Bangladesh Specialized Hospital is seeking a qualified, compassionate, and experienced Senior Medical Officer for our Neuro Medicine Department. The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based neurological care, supporting both inpatient and emergency cases, and contributing to training and departmental development.
MBBS from a recognized institution.
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a relevant field.
Candidates with Part 1 / Phase A in FCPS, MD, or MRCP will be highly preferred.
Additional training or specialization in neurology or related disciplines is an advantage.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in any of the following sectors is preferred:
Hospitals, Diagnostic Centers, Clinics, Research Organizations
Age not exceeding 40 years.
Strong knowledge in:
Neurological history-taking and assessments
General medical and surgical procedures
Excellent communication skills, patient-focused mindset, and ethical conduct.
Capable of maintaining accurate medical records and reporting clinical data effectively.
Adaptable, proactive, and target-driven attitude.
Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments within 24 hours of patient admission.
Collaborate with consultants to form diagnoses and implement treatment protocols.
Recommend and review diagnostic tests (MRI, CT, EEG, labs).
Initiate and monitor neurological treatment plans.
Participate in daily ward rounds, document progress, and ensure consistent care.
Respond to acute neurological events like stroke, seizures, and encephalopathy.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient management.
Perform NG tube insertions, lumbar punctures, catheterizations, and basic wound care under supervision.
Provide on-call support for neurological emergencies and assist consultants as needed.
Oversee patient admissions, discharge planning, and preparation of discharge summaries.
Support departmental functions such as scheduling and logistics when consultants are unavailable.
Assist in planning and reporting clinical and financial departmental activities.
Maintain clear and accurate patient records, case notes, and reports.
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, ethical guidelines, and infection control standards.
Report incidents and medication errors as per hospital protocol.
Mentor junior doctors and provide clinical guidance.
Participate in internal training, case reviews, journal clubs, and departmental audits.
Engage in quality improvement and hospital-wide patient safety initiatives.
